Benjamin Rich of St. Augustine has been appointed to serve as Judge on the St. Johns County Court, filling a critical judicial vacancy in the local court system.
Rich brings extensive legal experience to the bench, having served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit since 2010. In this role, he has prosecuted a wide range of criminal cases and developed comprehensive courtroom experience over more than a decade of public service.
Prior to his tenure with the State Attorney’s Office, Rich practiced law as an Attorney with McCune Law P.A., where he gained valuable experience in private practice.
Rich’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and a juris doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law, providing him with a solid foundation in legal principles and practice.
The appointment fills the judicial vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Blocker, ensuring continued judicial coverage for St. Johns County residents.
